The plate is a little odd because it has a little slit down the middle, I suppose to let the steam out. Steam is going to blast your hair into the style quickly because once it comes out of the hot iron, it cools quicker. Hair reforms the bonds when it cools down. So to keep that style, keep the form until it's room temp. It also makes the process quicker. So you don't have to go back over the same section over and over. I'm a hair stylist and it saves a lot of time. I'm happy with this buy!

I am a professional hairstylist and in my 30-year career have purchased many curling and flat irons. This iron has a quick heat up and a constant temperature that stay even during the period you are working with it. The cool tip protects my fingers while using it. There is an adjustable temperature control to make sure I am straightening my clients with a temperature suited for their hair type. I used this product as soon as I purchased it. It heats up quickly and glides so easily through the hair because of the ceramic plates. There is a special steam function in this flat iron. You can actually hear the sound of the water when heating up!! My client's hair feels so silky and smooth, it reduces frizz with one pass over the hair. The cord swivels which makes it easier to straighten without getting tangled and damaged during use. To power on the unit, there are buttons on the side to select which one you the high or low temperature and the light will light up on when it’s ready to use. After 60 minutes if you did not shut the flat iron off it will automatically shut off...which is a great safety feature. I'm very happy with this professional tool and will recommend to my all of my stylist friends, as well as my clients.

Easy to use–works like a regular straightener, but with the addition/option of steam. Water compartment is easy to fill and lasts a few times before refilling. This straightener has allowed me to straighten my hair without drying it out and without pulling–it glides through hair.

I love this straightener! The water which makes the steam really makes your hair straight, shiny and smooth with one pass of the straightener. It heats up fast and has multiple heat settings to adjust the temperature. I am able to use a lower heat setting than I did with my previous straightener which I love because it. The fact that it help keep or put back the moisture in your hair leaving it bouncy and full of body is excellent. This is made of good quality and it has a nice sleek design. The curves on the plates keeps the flow of steam breathable so you don't burn your scalp well thought out.

I bought this straightener after buying a cheaper one that broke within 10 days. I'm so glad I purchased this straightener !! It produces EXCELLENT, visible steam & even has a stream of steam (lol at my poetry) so I can also steam my hair without it being in the straightening plates, & thus reduce the frizz my hair is prone to always have. I love the automatic turn off, the swivel cord, & the easy fillable water chamber. Overall I really think this straightener is an excellent purchase. Thank you !!

I can absolutely say without a doubt that the iTrend Hair Straightener is one of the best hair straighteners i have ever purchased. I was a little leary at first about using steam to straighten my hair but to my surprise it only took one pass on the highest heat! I would definitely recommend this flat iron. So glad I took the leap and bought it.

My hair is thin and frizzy when I get out of the shower and/or blow dry it. When I use this straightener it does the job wonderfully
